The Green Man Festival

2011′s Green Man Festival is coming up this weekend. If you happen to be going, you can catch me playing on the Pub Stage on Sunday 21st at 5pm.

Other events to look out for are the Arctic Circle‘s curation of the Cinema Tent on Saturday and Sunday featuring Paper Cinema, Sone Institute, North Sea Radio Orchestra, etc, and Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo, who play on Friday night at 9.45pm.

Fairy Tales and Monsters
On 11th June I will be singing with The Age of Not Believing Orchestra at King’s Place in London. This orchestra features members of The High Llamas, The Red Clay Halo, Homelife, Beth Orton accompanist Ted Barnes, plus a six-piece brass section and 30-strong choir. This concert is part of the Fairy Tales and Monsters Festival curated by Arctic Circle and will be a really unique show – one not to be missed!

Gill Sandell at The Green Note
On the 14th July I will be supporting Gill Sandell at The Green Note in London. For the last few years Gill has been the accordionist and flautist with Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo (who have recently provided the title music for the BBC2 Drama series ‘Wallander’ and ‘The Shadow Line’). This will be Gill’s first headline show with her own band.

Catchers in Paris

The Green Man Festival
Finally, I am really looking forward to playing at this year’s Green Man Festival. The festival runs from 19th to 21st August and I will be playing on Sunday. Headliners include Fleet Foxes, Iron and Wine and Explosions in the sky.

Don’t forget that the ‘Fairy Tales and Monsters‘ festival begins at King’s Place in London on the 9th June.

Curated by Arctic Circle, the festival’s highlights include a celebration of the music of Vernon Elliot, a tribute concert to Moondog, and Paper Cinema‘s performance and workshop.

I will also be taking part on the 11th June, singing a new song with the Age of Not Believing Orchestra, which features members of The High Llamas, The Red Clay Halo, Homelife, Dollboy, Beth Orton accompanist Ted Barnes, plus a brass section and a 30-strong choir!

Trace Recordings/Fairy Tales and Monsters

Hi, there are a couple of shows coming up to tell you about…

First of all I will be doing a solo set at a showcase night for the Trace Recordings label on the 7th April at The Wilmington Arms in London w/ Rome Pays Off, Signals, David Hurn, etc. Tickets will be £5.

All proceeds from this event will go towards the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal.

First TSY show for 2010

The first show of this year will be at Kings Place in London on the 26th Feb.
Accompanied by members of both The Sleeping Years and Catchers – and the Arctic Circle Brass Ensemble – Dale will perform songs in special arrangements by John Jermy and Nick Drake-collaborator the late Robert Kirby.

Alice Lemon will be joining Dale on stage to perform some Catchers songs.
